Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) launched 2016 Activa i priced at Rs. 50,255, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The price for the update of the model has not been increased as the changes are just addition of new colours. The new Activa i will be sold in new three colours — earl trance yellow, candy jazzy blue and imperial red. The first two colours will be available in the Standard variant while the imperial red shade is being offered only in the Deluxe variant.
Apart from the new colours, the Standard version will continue to be sold in white and black colours. The Deluxe version is also available with the current pearl amazing white and orchid purple metallic shades.
The motorcycle continues to draw power from 109.19cc air-cooled engine that develops 8bhp at 7,500rpm and 8.74Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The scooter measures 1,795mm in length, 705mm in width, 1,115mm in height and 1,238mm in wheelbase. It comes with a ground clearance of 165mm, kerb weight of 103kg and a fuel tank capacity of 5.3-litre.
"In line with our strategy to surprise our customers by adding freshness to our products regularly, the 2016 Activa i is Honda's seventh new model of 2016. With this, we are confident of driving rapid scooterisation of the two-wheeler industry," said Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice president, sales and marketing at HMSI, in a statement.
Honda Activa scooter range currently consists of Activa i at the bottom, followed by the best-seller Aciva 110 and the Activa 125cc version. HMSI recently updated another scooter model, the Dio, with new colour options. The new Dio has been priced at Rs. 48,264 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it is available in a new matt axis grey monotone shade apart from the four existing colours – jazzy blue metallic, candy palm green, sports red and black.
