General Motors India launched updated Chevrolet Cruze sedan at a starting price of Rs 14.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2016 update include reworked face and added interior features, including MyLink infotainment system and rear vision camera. The new Cruze is available in three variants: LT manual for Rs 14.68 lakh, LTZ manual for Rs 16.75 lakh and LTZ automatic for Rs 17.81 lakh, (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The face of the sedan now comes with new LED daytime running lamps, chrome horizontal slats with new projector fog lamps. Rear of the car gets lip spoiler. The interior is spruced up with 7-inch MyLink touch-screen Infotainment system that comes with embedded applications, including Internet radio functionality, Grace Note and SIRI eyes free compatibility, Bluetooth audio streaming and phone telephony with voice recognition control. New multi-function steering wheel with buttons for infotainment has also been added.
In terms of safety, the 2016 Cruze gets dual front airbags, two side air bags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), passive entry passive start (PEPS) that automatically controls the central locking system, anti-theft alarm and ignition.
"The Chevrolet Cruze 2016 redefines the premium executive sedan with striking new styling and added features along with the most powerful diesel engine in its segment. Since its launch, Cruze continues to be one of the largest-selling Chevrolet nameplates selling over 3.5 million units globally," said Kaher Kazem, President and Managing Director of General Motors India, in a press statement.
Being a facelift model, the Cruze comes with the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder VCDi diesel engine, which generates 165bhp of power and 380Nm of torque mated to either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The automatic version delivers fuel economy of 14.81kmpl, while the manual variant returns a fuel efficiency of 17.9kmpl as per the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT).
