Swedish car maker Volvo has expanded its product portfolio in India with the launch of new XC90 SUV.
Available in two trims, Momentum and Inscription Luxury, the new Volvo XC90 has been priced at ₹64.9 lakh and ₹77.9 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom Mumbai).The bookings for the new XC90 are open in the country with a down payment of ₹5 lakh, while deliveries are expected to commence in September.
The second generation XC90, which is based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), packs 1,969cc in-line four cylinders, twin turbo-charged diesel engine that can comfortably churn out a power of 225bhp at 4,250rpm and a peak torque of 470 Nm under the hood. The transmission comes from an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the model has the capacity to attain a top sped to 230 kmph.
In terms of dimensions, XC 90 measures 4,950mm in length, 1,923mm in width, and 1,776mm in height. XC90, 'the world's safest SUV', will rival Audi Q7, BMW X5, and Mercedes GL Class in India.
While the Momentums variant of XC90 comes equipped with features like panoramic sunroof, electrically operated boot-lid, rear camera, hill decent control, keyless entry, tyre pressure monitor, electrically adjustable driver seat, and 12.3-inch screen, the top-of-the-line variant inscription packs additional features like heads-up display, Nappa leather seats and 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins music system.
