If latest reports on the web are anything to go by, Volkswagen's new Vento facelift will make its India debut as early as June.
A report in OverDrive claims that Volkswagen's new Vento facelift will be launched in India on 23 June with a sticker price slightly higher than the existing model in the market. The new Vento facelift includes changes both inside and outside.
From a visual stand point, 2015 Vento facelift flaunts new front bumper with 3-slat chrome grille and larger air dam and the side profile of the new Vento includes new set of 15 inch Zirkonia alloy wheels. Moving further back, the rear profile of the Vento facelift includes changes like re-worked bumper with thick chrome strip and refreshed tail lamps.
Inside the cabin, the new 2015 Volkswagen Vento features dead pedal, auto-folding electronically adjustable ORVMs, Cruise control and cooled glovebox. While the Highline variant of the model gets Walnut Desert Beige interior, the base variant Trendline & Comfortline receive Cloud Titanschwarz interior theme.
In terms of dimension, according to Team BHP, the new Vento is taller and longer than the current model by 1 mm (1,467 mm) and 6 mm (4,390 mm) respectively. The ground clearance of the model has reportedly gone down to 163 mm from 165 mm.
As for the engine line-up, the new Vento facelift gets the same same 1.5-litre diesel engine, which can churn out 103.5bhp power @4,400rpm and 250Nm of peak torque @1,500-2,500rpm with five-speed manual transmission and seven-speed DSG automatic and 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre MPI engines. While the 1.6 MPI is expected to return 16.09 kmpl, the 1.2 TSI and 1.5 MT are tuned to deliver 18.19 kmpl and 20.4 kmpl respectively. The 1.5 DSG is likely to give a mileage of 21.50 kmpl.
When launched, the new Volkswagen Vento will take on the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna 4S.
