Suzuki's compact crossover Ignis made its debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show on 28 October (Wednesday).
Suzuki Ignis, the model based on the Suzuki iM-4 concept that was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, has been described as a "car that can straddle the boundary between daily life and leisure".
Although the compact crossover Ignis has received minor tweaks in terms of styling and design, it would be interesting to see that the car premiered at the latest edition of Tokyo show stay true to its concept model iM-4.
Other key details of Suzuki Ignis are yet to be revealed. However, word around the internet suggests that Suzuki's new crossover will get a new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, BoosterJet petrol motor.
Rumour also has it that a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine with the SHVS mild-hybrid system mated to CVT gearbox could also make it to the Ignis. Ignis is expected to be a sub-four meter crossover with the four-wheel drive system. When coming to India, Ignis could also get 2WD option.
Suzuki Ignis is expected to reach Indian shores towards the end of 2016 or in early 2017.
