Korean auto maker's next generation premium hatchback i20 has been spied once again in the country, this time in Delhi, revealing that the car is being tested for various climate conditions across the country.
Hyundai i20, a car which is expected to make its global debut in October at Paris Motor Show was earlier caught on camera in Chennai and Bangalore. The latest set of pictures are from Delhi by Indian Autos Blog reader Karan Manocha.
Hyundai i20, which is believed to be one of the 22 cars that the company might launch under the 'Product Momentum 2017′ badge in the next three years is codenamed 'IB' and is expected to come with 1.4-liter diesel and 1.2-liter Kappa2 engine mated to either a five-speed or a six-speed manual transmission in India.
While the petrol engine is expected to churn out 83 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque, the diesel engine is to give 89 bhp of power and 219 Nm of torque. In the international market, the car is likely to be offered with 1.1 liter 3 pot diesel engine, 1.2 liter 4 pot gasoline engine, 1.0 and 1.4 liter diesel motors.
In the latest set of spy shots, the car is seen wearing LED tail lamps and alloy wheels. The expectations of the Indian auto aficionados are high on the next generation i20. The car is expected to accommodate features like climate control, keyless entry, steering mounted audio controls, reverse camera, parking sensors and automatic day/night interior mirror. Beside this, the 2015 i20 is also likely to get reworked headlight, tail light and bumper.
When launched in India, i20 will be pegged against Maruti Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Tata Bolt, Toyota Etios Liva and Ford Figo. Although the exact launch details of the car in the domestic market is still unknown, rumours indicate that the company would bring the new model of i20 to India soon as the current generation of i20 enjoys a great fan base in the country. If recent reports are to be believed, the car could come by September this year.
