Suzuki Motor Corporation pulled the cover off its iK-2 compact hatchback concept on Tuesday at the ongoing 2015 Geneva Motor show.
Suzuki iK-2 concept, a preview of Maruti's upcoming hatchback in India codenamed YRA, is based on "Liquid Flow" design and is inspired by three keywords --"harmony," "elegance," and "energy wave."
Seated on a wheel base of 2,520 mm, iK-2 measures 4,023 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height and comes with 225/45R18 tyres. Built on Suzuki's new-generation platform, Suzuki iK-2 is powered by new BOOSTERJET 1.0 litre direct-injection turbo engine with boosted power and torque along with improved fuel efficiency.
Speaking of the styling of new Suzuki iK-2, the concept features character lines running through its body right from the front to the rear end and it also gets sporty front fascia with wide grille and LED headlamps.
iK-2 will be launched in Europe in early 2015 and the Indian version YRA is likely to see the light of day by October this year. In India, YRA premium hatchback will be pitted against Honda's upcoming Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20 and the car is expected to see features like chrome door handles, five-spoke alloy wheels, rear wiper and de-fogger. Other expected features include steering-mounted controls, new music system with touchscreen, Engine start stop button, electrically adjustable OVRMs and reverse parking sensors.
