Japanese auto maker Honda unveiled its third generation Jazz at 85th Geneva Motor Show.
With this, the new Jazz that is expected to reach Indian shores in next couple of months gets fresh interiors and exteriors and the model will go on sale in Europe in summer. While the new Jazz sticks to the true heritage of Jazz models, the newest in the line-up is 95mm longer and has a 30 mm longer wheelbase. The model gets roomy cabin and bigger luggage space with 354lt of capacity.
Inside the cabin, the new Jazz houses seven-inch "Honda Connect" infotainment touchscreen system that runs on Android Auto and offers MirrorLink, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI and USB. Power comes from a 1.3-litre i-VTEC Honda Earth Dreams engine, which is tuned to churn out 102 PS of power at 6,000 rpm.
In India, the new 2015 Jazz is expected to make its debut in 2015. The engine line-up is expected to include the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, which can generate a power of 87bhp, with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm. The diesel Jazz is expected to draw power from a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque.
Likely to fall in the price brackets of ₹5 lakh -₹8 lakh, new Honda jazz will rival Maruti Suzuki Swift, Nissan Micra, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20 in the domestic market.
