After giving glimpse of Ka (Ford Figo) hatchback earlier this week, it is now been said that the company has released a set of images of its upcoming sedan dubbed Ford Ka+ in Brazil, according to Car and Driver.
Ford Ka+, a sedan variant of the company's Ka hatchback is likely to enter Brazilian market by August this year and in India the same sedan will be launched with the name Ford Figo. The car will be manufactured at the company plant in Camaçari, Bahia and when launched it will take on the likes of Volkswagen Voyage and Renault Logan in Brazil. The car looks similar to the concept car which was shown at the Delhi Auto Expo.
In Brazil, the Ka+ would measure more than 4 meters, while the Indian specific version would be a sub-4 meter sedan. In India, Ford Figo sedan will rival Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Suzuki DZire and Honda Amaze.
Ka+ will be powered by 1.0-litre three cylinder flex-fuel engine, which is tuned to produce 85 hp of power and 105 Nm of torque. The high end trim of the sedan is likely to get 1.5 liter engine, which can generate 111 hp, as reported by Carwale. The engine will be capable of running on gasoline and ethanol.
From the images, the center console of the vehicle seemed to have great similarities with the one offered in the Fiesta sedan and the new sedan Ka+ is expected to house features like steering mounted audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity and more.
Earlier this week, the company has previewed its upcoming Ford Ka hatchback on the website. In Brazil, Ford Ka will get power from naturally aspirated 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which can churn out a power of 85 bhp and peak torque of 10.7 kgm. The engine would come mated to five-speed manual gearbox and it would be capable of running on gasoline and ethanol. The car which is tested for its fuel efficiency is expected to give 13 km/l in urban and 15.1 km/l in extra-urban on petrol and 13 km/l in urban and 15.1 km/l in extra-urban while running on ethanol.
India entry of both the Figo(Ka) and Figo sedan(Ka+) is likely o happen in 2015. Rumours suggest that the new generation Ford Figo will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options in the country. The diesel model of the Figo hatchback is speculated to be powered by 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine, which can generate a power of 89 bhp and a peak torque of 204 Nm.
