The facelifted avatar of Ford's much popular EcoSport has been spied testing in India for the first time, indicating that the US major is planning to rollout the new model soon in the country.
Though Ford has not officially confirmed the facelifted EcoSport for the Indian market yet, the recent sightings of the model on public roads here raise speculations the model could soon be launched in India.
Revealed in March at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Ford EcoSport facelift is expected to make its market debut in the UK by June this year.
Caught testing near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu by folks at TeamBHP, the EcoSport facelift is seen without the rear-mounted spare wheel. Though the 'carparrazi' could not get close enough to snap the design changes of the new 2015 EcoSport facelift, the images suggest the car is expected to accommodate changes in the rear. Inside the cabin too, the EcoSport facelift is likely to get changes.
The model, which was shown at the Geneva Motor Show had features such as colour four-inch display, partial leather seats standard for Titanium models, winter packs that includes heated windscreen, mirrors and seats and rear seat ducting. It is not sure if the same model will be launched in India. However, some features are expected to be found in the India-specific version too.
Going by the words of the original publisher of the spy shots, Ford EcoSport facelift is likely to make its India debut in the second half of this year.
The EcoSport facelift is likely to carry the same engines of the current model in the market, may be with minor tweaks. Currently, the 1.5L petrol engine gives 112PS power and 140Nm torque and the revolutionary EcoBoost.
EcoSport engine churns out a power of 125PS and 170Nm torque, with a mileage of 18.9kmpl. The diesel variant of EcoSport is the most fuel-efficient among all models, delivering a mileage of 22.7kmpl.
