The launch of next generation Volkswagen Polo is just around the corner and as the auto aficionados wait patiently for the 2014 Volkswagen Polo facelift, a new brochure of the car has been leaked online, revealing all the details of the soon-to-be-launched vehicle.
The leaked brochure reveals the engine specifications of the upcoming Polo facelift including the torque curve and the horse power of the car. As rumoured earlier, Volkswagen's new offering will be ditching the 1.6-litre diesel engine for the 1.5l diesel motor. According to the brochure uploaded on Carsizzler, the new 1.5l TDI engine will generate power in two states of tune -1) 90 PS at 4,200 rpm and peak torque of 230 Nm between 1,500 – 2,300 rpm 2) 105 PS at 4,400 rpm and 250 Nm torque at 1,500 – 2,500 rpm. The petrol variants of the new Polo facelift will retain the current 1.2 litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine.
2014 Volkswagen Polo facelift will make its India debut on 15 July. Although the pricing and other details of the vehicle is still awaited, previous reports have indicated that some dealers of the company have commenced the booking for new Polo facelift with a token amount of ₹50,000. When launched, the new avatar of Polo will be pegged against Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Tata Bolt and Honda Jazz and the car is expected to fall in the price range of ₹5-8 lakh.
Talking of the key features and changes expected in the upcoming Polo facelift, the front fascia of the car is expected to receive cosmetic upgrades .The India specific version of the car is likely to accommodate a single slat chrome grille along with new mirror elements on headlights. As far as the interior is concerned, the car is likely to get features like three-spoke steering wheel and silver inserts for the center console. The 10-spoke alloy wheels is also rumoured for the upcoming Polo facelift.
The company will be launching new Polo facelift in the country, which will be followed by the Polo GT TSI and GT TDI.
