2014 Volkswagen Polo Facelift Launched in India; Price, Availability Details

The wait is over. Volkswagen has officially pulled the wraps off its much awaited 2014 Polo facelift in the country for a starting price of ₹4.99 lakh.

Sporting a new front fascia with new headlight and front grille, the new 2014 Polo facelift looks stylish in its design and also has a number of features on board. On the mechanical front, the car will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines in the domestic auto market. While the petrol model of Polo facelift is powered by 1.2-litre MPI engine, which can churn out a power of 75 PS @ 5,400 rpm and a torque of 110 Nm @ 3,750 rpm, the diesel variant comes with 1.5-litre diesel powertrain that can generate 90 PS @ 4,200 rpm and 230 Nm of torque between 1,500-2,500 rpm.

The same engines will also power the Volkswagen Polo GT TDI and Polo GT TSI with different states of tunes. The Volkswagen Polo GT TDI will get power from a 1.5 litre diesel engine, generating 105 PS @ 4,400 rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1,500-2,500 rpm and the Polo GT TSI will be churning out a power of 105 PS @ 5,000 rpm and 175 Nm of torque between 1,500-4,100 rpm. These two models of Polo will be available in India only from September.

Coming back to the new Polo Facelift, the car also sports revised tail lamps with a new rear bumper, new 15-inch alloy wheels and a new body colour. The interior of the car is spruced up with a three spoke steering wheel and silver-painted centre console.

The new avatar of Polo will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Tata Bolt and Honda Jazz in the country.
