The latest spy shots are from the folks at Team-BHP and the car is seen completely uncovered.
Maruti Swift, one of the favourite hatchbacks of the Indian auto lovers is seemed to be ready to entice its fans in the country with its new avatar. Expected to reach our market during this festive season, Swift facelift will mirror the existing version of the vehicle and is likely to carry the same 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engines of the current model.
The 1.2 litre four cylinder petrol motor is tuned to generate 86 bhp of power @ 6,200rpm and 114 Nm torque @ 4,000rpm, while the 1.3 litre four cylinder DDiS diesel motor can produce 74 bhp power @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm peak torque @ 2,000 rpm. Both the engines will come coupled to a five speed manual transmission.
The new Swift facelift is likely to come with a mild makeover both inside and outside. The car is expected to flaunt a new front fascia with wider air dam, headlights and front bumper and there is also LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on mid and top end variants. The base variant of Swift facelift will miss out the LED DRL.
Other expected features include reverse parking sensor, electrically adjustable ORVMs, keyless entry and go and fresh alloy wheels.
As we already know, the car is likely to host safety features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and front and side airbags.
Maruti is likely to price its new swift competitively in the market and once it hits the market, the new Swift will be pegged against Hyundai Elite i20, 2014 Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto EVO and Tata Bolt.
