Mahindra & Mahindra's refreshed Scorpio has been rumoured to make its debut in the country in October and the company is busy putting its facelifted SUV through its final testing phase.
Another test mule of Scorpio facelift has been spied testing in the country, indicating that the car's new avatar is gearing up for an imminent launch. The latest set of spy shots has come from the folks at IndianAutosblog, who caught the SUV on test near the company's facility in Nashik.
The test mule of the refreshed Scorpio is still seen disguised, nonetheless the repeated sightings of the car have given us a clear picture of what to expect from this upcoming facelifted model.
For the facelifted Scorpio, we expect to see a range of tweaks including the re-worked front and rear with new headlights and tail lamps.
Inside the cabin, the new avatar of Scorpio is likely to get features like automatic climate control, rectangular design central consoles AC vents, steering-mounted controls for audio and cruise control.
The top end model of the SUV is rumoured to get seven-inch touch-screen with satellite navigation and rear-view camera.
Power is likely to come from the same 2.2 litre four-cylinder turbo-charged mHawk diesel engine, which does duty in the current model and is expected to get 120 bhp power and 290 Nm torque. We do not know yet the source of power transmission, but it is quite likely that refreshed Scorpio will get six-speed automatic transmission for better performance.
So far, the maker of Scorpio has not confirmed the launch date and the pricing of the new SUV in the country; however rumours are rife that the car would fall in the price range of ₹8 lakh to ₹13 lakh.
Once the new Scorpio facelift hits the matket, the SUV will be pinned to rival Tata Safari Storme, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano in the country.
