2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift Launched in India; Price, Feature, Booking Details [PHOTOS]

The wait is over. The new generation Scorpio from the house of Mahindra has made its India debut on Thursday at starting price of ₹7.98 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Mahindra Scorpio facelift has been in the news for quite some time now. The car, which made numerous appearances on the web through spy pics, has finally reached the auto market with restyled look and improved features.

Available in six trims -- S2, S4, S6, S6+, S8 and S10 -- the new Mahindra Scorpio comes with the same engine options of the existing model, but has been tweaked to deliver better performance. The base variant of new Scorpio draws power from the 2.5-liter 4 cylinder m2DiCr diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 75bhp @ 3200 rpm and a peak torque of 195Nm @ 1400-2200 rpm, coupled to 5 speed manual transmissions. The other variants S4, S6, S6+, S8 and S10 gets the power from 2.2 litre mHawk engine that is tuned to pump out 120bhp @ 4,000 rpm and 280Nm @ 1,800 to 2,800 rpm.

Seated on a wheelbase of 2680 mm, the new generation Scorpio measures 4456 mm in length, 1820 mm in width and 1930 mm in height. From the visual stand point, the SUV gets aggressive front styling with dual projector headlamps, and newly styled tail gate. Inside the cabin, the new generation Scorpio gets dual tone dashboard with new futuristic instrument cluster, steering wheel with audio and cruise control and finished with Blue/grey fabric upholstery.

Other features onboard include touchscreen infotainment system, GPS navigation, driver information through infotainment system, automatic climate control, rain and lights sensors, parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system and electrically adjustable ORVM.

The bookings for new Scorpio are underway in the country with an advance payment of 20,000 and the vehicle can also be booked through online retailer Snapdeal.
