Popular SUV maker Mahindra's highly anticipated Scorpio facelift India launch date has been confirmed, claims a new report on an automobile website.
Scorpio Facelift, the new avatar of Mahindra's iconic Scorpio has been in the news for quite some time now and the SUV is being rigorously tested in the country before its launch.
Now a latest report of Rushlane, citing its source claims that the new Scorpio facelift is set to make its entry into the domestic market on 23 September.
From what we have seen so far, the new Scorpio facelift is likely to flaunt a reworked front fascia with new stylish headlights and grille along with the new LED taillights. In the cabin, the expected features include automatic climate control, rectangular design central consoles AC vents, steering-mounted controls for audio and cruise control.
As far as the engine is concerned, there will not be any changes under the hood and the Scorpio Facelift will continue to get power from the same 2.2 litre four-cylinder turbo-charged mHawk diesel engine, which powers the current Scorpio model. The engine currently has the capacity to churn out 120 bhp power and 290 Nm torque and we expect it to come coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission to deliver better performance.
Previous reports have indicated that the production of Scorpio facelift has begun at the company's plant and Mahindra has manufactured 100 units of the new Scorpio since 1 August.
Apparently, Mahindra is looking to stock around 5,000 units of Scorpio facelift before its arrival to the market.
Although Mahindra is yet to confirm the launch date and the pricing details, rumours suggest that the new Scorpio facelift will get a price tag in the range of ₹8 lakh to ₹13 lakh.
Once it hits the market, Scorpio will compete with Tata Safari Storme, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.
