The Facelift Scorpio has been spied testing in the country numerous times, giving us a pretty clear picture of what to expect when this SUV arrives in the market. Now a new Auto Economic Times report says that Mahindra's new Scorpio facelift will see the light of the day in October. The report also notes that the new Scorpio will see tweaks in suspension and interior.
From what we know so far, the Scorpio facelift will sport changes both inside and outside. The previous spy shots have shown us the cabin and interior design of the upcoming Scorpio and the model is likely to come with features like automatic climate control, rectangular design central consoles AC vents, steering mounted controls for audio and cruise control.
On the outside, the new Scorpio facelift is likely to get reworked front and rear with new headlights and tail lamps. As far as the side profile of the upcoming Scorpio is concerned, we do not expect many changes.
Under the bonnet, the Facelift of Scorpio is expected to carry the same 2.2 liter four cylinder turbocharged mHawk diesel engine, which powers the current model. The engine is likely to offer a power of 120 bhp and a peak torque of 290 Nm. Rumours also suggest that the new SUV is likely to get six-speed automatic transmission for improved performance.
When it is launched, the new Scorpio will take on the likes of Tata Safari Storme, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano in the country.
Apart from the Scorpio facelift, Mahindra is also expected to launch a compact SUV codenamed S101. It would be a sub four-meter compact SUV and is likely to be powered by Mahindra's newly developed 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine and 1.5-liter three-cylinder mCR100 unit, which does the duty in the Quanto.
