Mahindra's newly launched Scorpio has garnered 12,000 bookings in India, says a new report.
Mahindra launched the new avatar of its iconic SUV Scorpio in India on 25 September and in the month of October, 6,000 units of Scorpio have been billed, reports Auto Car Professional, quoting Pawan Goenka, ED, Mahindra & Mahindra. The company opened the bookings for its new Scorpio in mid-September and this time, the company also accepted the booking through the popular e-retailer website Snapdeal.
The Scorpio packs changes both inside and outside and comes loaded with features like LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights and automatic climate control.
The base variant of new Scorpio is powered by the 2.5-liter 4 cylinder m2DiCr diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 75bhp @3,200rpm and a peak torque of 195Nm @1,400-2,200rpm, coupled to 5 speed manual transmissions, while other variants S4, S6, S6+, S8 and S10 gets the power from 2.2 litre mHawk engine that can churn out 120bhp @4,000rpm and 280nm @1,800 to 2,800rpm.
The accessory list for the new Scorpio includes, chrome package for grille, bonnet scoop, door handles, ORVMs, rear registration plate and rear bumper reflectors and there is also rear spoiler with integrated light, ski-rack, rain visor and rally fog lamps.
Now, we also hear that Scorpio automatic variant will make its debut in the country soon. Apart from this, Mahindra is also expected to launch next generation Bolero and the compact SUV S101 in India.
Mahindra S101, the sub-four metre SUV has been spied numerous times in the country. Expected to get power from 1.2 litre petrol engine, the upcoming SUV is likely to feature auto climate-control, steering-mounted buttons for infotainment system.
