Looks like Hyundai's latest Elite i20 is off to a flying start, as the car has racked up over 56,000 bookings within four months in the country.
The company on Tuesday said that the new Elite i20 has been receiving overwhelming response from auto lovers in the country and the car has received more than 56,000 bookings and 300,000 customer enquiries so far since its entry into the market.
"We are working towards increasing its production for faster deliveries to offer a delightful experience to customers. The Elite i20 has seen heightened response across the country for petrol and diesel variants creating new Elite customers for future. Hyundai reaffirms its commitment to the customer and will continue to bring world-class products," said Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president, sales and marketing at HMIL.
Launched on 11 August, the new i20 has been earning accolades for its sharp and chic styling and the model made it to the list of top selling brands in India within a few months of its launch. Available in both petrol and diesel engine options in the country, Hyundai Elite i20 is also expected to get an automatic variant in India soon.
Underneath the skin, the Elite i20 packs 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor. While the petrol engine of Elite i20 can churn out 83ps of power and peak torque of 114nm, the diesel motor is tuned to generate 90ps of power and peak torque of 220nm.
On the safety front, the new i20 offers Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), four-passenger airbags and reverse-parking camera. Other features include multi-steering mounted audio controls, Bluetooth integrated 2 Din audio with USB and Aux-in and 1GB internal storage, rear AC vents, push start-stop button and automatic temperature control.
