Looks like auto aficionados in India have been impressed with the new Elite i20, which made its debut in the country yesterday.
The new-generation i20 has received 4,600 pre-launch bookings in the country, of which 2,600 are for the petrol model of i20 and 2,000 bookings for the diesel version so far, according to Autocar Professional.
Citing, Rakesh Srivastava, senior VP (sales and marketing), HMIL, the report also claims that an automatic variant of the new Elite i20 will also be hitting the market soon.
Launched on 11 August, Hyundai new Elite i20 comes with a price tag starting price of ₹4.89 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
The car is offered in petrol and diesel engine options in the country and as of now there is no automatic variant of the car.
The petrol model is powered by 1.2 litre petrol engine, which can churn out an 83 PS of power and peak torque of 114 Nm, mated to five speed manual transmission. And the diesel version gets power from 1.4 litre CRDi diesel engine, that can pump out 90 PS of power and peak torque of 220 Nm .
It comes in five trims - Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta and seven colour options - Red Passion, Pristine Blue, Mystic Blue, Star Dust, Midas Gold, Polar White and Sleek Silver.
The features on board include multi-steering mounted audio controls, Bluetooth integrated 2 Din audio with USB and Aux-in and 1 GB internal storage, rear AC vents, push start-stop button, and automatic temperature control.
On the safety front, the Elite i20 packs Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), four passenger airbags and reverse-parking camera.
In India, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Tata Bolt, Toyota Etios Liva and Ford Figo are the main rivals of Elite i20.
