Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Tuesday in the Malegaon blast case of 2008. The victims of the blast will reportedly challenge the bail in the Supreme Court.
Thakur is accused of plotting Malegaon blasts that claimed seven lives and left many injured in September 2008. The spiritual guru has been asked to furnish a bail bond of Rs 5 lakh. However, Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, who is also an accused in the case, was denied bail by the same court.
Thakur's lawyer said the court did not find any evidence of conspiracy against her and that the motorcycle, which was recovered by the Mumbai Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) from the site of the blast, did not belong to Thakur.
