The mother and daughter are residents of France and were on their way to Italy via an Emirates flight, reports the Press Trust of India.
The police is interrogating the two women.
Original Story: Two Indian women travelling to Dubai were detained at the Kolkata airport Saturday for carrying five rounds of live cartridge in their luggage. They are being questioned by the airport police in Kolkata, reports said.
The two women, identified as Piyali and Anamika De, were detained by the CISF at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport and were due to take an Emirates flight to Dubai Saturday, reports Times Now.
The women, who are related to an ex-air force personnel, are being held at the airport police station. The former air force personnel has also arrived at the location.
The two Bengali women have been unable to explain about the ammunition they were carrying, reports said.
