Nayantara seems to be getting ready to romance Rajinikanth again. The actress has been approached to play the female lead in the superstar's next, which is said to be the Tamil remake of "Bhaskar the Rascal."
As per a report by the Deccan Chronicle, Nayantara is a front-runner to bag the female lead in Rajinikanth's flick. She had played the female lead in "Bhaskar the Rascal" and her performance in Mammootty's film had garnered good response. It appears a factor like this made the makers approach her for this flick.
If Nayantara takes up the project, it will be her fourth film with Rajinikanth after "Chandramukhi," "Sivaji – The Boss" and "Kuselan." Recently, there were reports that the actress was approached for the Tamil remake of P Vasu's Kannada film "Shivalinga" in which Rajinikanth would star. But this flick has now been reportedly signed by Anushka Shetty, who will reportedly team up with Raghava Lawrence.
Director Siddique, who directed the original, will be helming the Tamil version of "Bhaskar the Rascal" too. He had earlier directed Kollywood films like Vijay and Suriya-starrer "Friends," Vijaykanth's "Engal Anna" and "Kaavalan."
While Rajinikanth has not confirmed whether he is acting in the Tamil remake of "Bhaskar the Rascal," the director announced recently that the superstar has given his nod to the flick. More details about the upcoming movie are awaited.
On the other hand, Rajinikanth is completely busy with his mega-budget flick "2.0" aka "Endhiran 2." Currently, the team is busy shooting key portions in New Delhi. The movie is directed by Shankar and bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
Akshay Kumar plays the role of a baddie in "2.0." Talking about the actor, Shankar tweeted, "Happy to shoot with Akshay Kumar - Hard working, disciplined n cooperative actor. (sic)" The film has Amy Jackson playing the female lead and is set to release in 2017.
