Rajinikanth's 2.0 has occupied the first place at the Chennai box office for the third consecutive weekend. The movie is likely to lose its top place this weekend as a few big movies are hitting the screens.
2.0 had grossed Rs 1.44 crore from 225 shows, which is a good number for any movie in its third weekend at the Chennai box office, as per Behindwoods. The total collection of the Shankar's movie now stands at Rs 22.01 crore, which requires Rs 2+ crore to surpass the lifetime collection of Kabali to become the highest grossing movie in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
Hollywood movie Aquaman has got a good opening at the Chennai box office in its first weekend. It has earned Rs 1.04 crore from 198 shows. New Tamil movie Thuppakki Munai is in the third position by earning Rs 57.61 lakh from 204 shows.
Another Hollywood flick Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has got an average opening by collecting Rs 37.88 lakh, while Malayalam movie Odiyan has raked in Rs 25.32 lakh from 66 shows in its first weekend.
Prashanth's Tamil movie Johnny has collected Rs 15.83 lakh from 99 shows, whereas Hindi movie Kedarnath entered its second weekend by earning Rs 8.67 lakh from 42 shows to take its total tally to Rs 34.97 lakh.
The collection of Ivanukku Engeyo Macham Irukku has not made any significant improvement in its second weekend as it earned Rs 13.38 lakh from 136 shows to take its total tally to Rs 35.22 lakh.
Telugu movies like Kavacham (Rs 3.73 lakh – total Rs 13.51 lakh), Subrahmanyapuram (Rs 2.46 lakh – total: 7.15 lakh) and Next Enti (Rs 1.20 lakh – total: 3.45 lakh) in the next three positions.
