Shankar's magnum opus 2.0 has completed its second weekend at the Tamil Nadu on a decent note. The Tamil movie enjoyed good occupancy in theatres in Chennai, Chengalpet, Coimbatore and a few other places on Saturday and Sunday.
On Monday, the movie witnessed normal weekday dip. However, 2.0 had a better occupancy rates among the current movies, which are being screened in theatres in Tamil Nadu. In 12 days, the total collection of the mega-budget flick in the state stands around Rs 81 crore (estimated number and not official).
Looking at the trends, 2.0 is expected to remain at the second place in the list of highest grossing movie of 2018 in Tamil Nadu. Vijay's Sarkar is in the top place by grossing over Rs 118 crore in the state.
2.0 vs Sarkar in Chennai
On its 12th day (Monday), 2.0 has grossed Rs 62 lakh at the Chennai box office. The total collection of the Tamil flick now stands at Rs 19.03 crore, thereby beating the lifetime collection of Baahubali 2, which had collected Rs 18.85 crore.
Notably, 2.0 has surpassed the collection of Sarkar in Chennai. The Vijay-starrer has earned Rs 15.47 crore in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
Interestingly, the Akshay Kumar's film has performed way better than the other big centres in Tamil Nadu. "#2Point0 had a solid blockbuster 2nd weekend @RohiniSilverScr Now the highest grosser of 2018 (Excluding 3D glass charges also) Expecting it to perform well in the Christmas holidays going by the current momentum . [sic]" Nikilesh Surya, the MD of Rohini Silverscreens, tweeted about the film's performance.
