It looks like Vikram Bhatt has taken forward the legacy of Ramsay Brothers who started an era of horror films during the early 70s and introduced viewers to their feeling of dread. Bhatt, who kept the horror genre alive for more than a decade, is back with his new horror flick 1921 which will surely send chills down your spine with its ghostly encounters.
The trailer of 1921 has landed online and it surely manages to keep you on the edge of your seats throughout its nearly two and a half-minute preview.
Set in 1921, the story revolves around two individuals Ayush (Karan Kundra) and Rose (Zareen Khan), who fight their way through extreme paranormal activities and try to get rid of a ruthless and cursed spirit that never fails to speed up their heartbeats with its untimely and unexpected occurrences.
The dramatic and spooky background score adds to the scenes that eventually makes them even more scarier. And Bhatt makes sure that he captures every horrifying element into his camera lens perfectly with occasional close-up shots and wide angles that add to the beauty of this horror flick.
However, there are a few instances or scenes where Zareen Khan, who possesses an extraordinary vision of seeing evil spirits, and Karan, who shows off his body marks as a sign of the spirit taking over his body, will definitely remind you of the Hollywood horror flick franchise The Conjuring and HBO series Game of Thrones.
But there is no harm in taking inspiration from their Hollywood counterparts unless it tells you a story that is original and entertaining enough to make you feel worth for your money. And good performances, of course, that will enhance the overall cinematic experience.
Bhatt has also added his romantic element which has always been the core part in his previously directed films like Raaz, Haunted-3D, 1920, Raaz 3 and Raaz Reboot. And Karan and Zareen make sure they steam up the screen with their passionate kisses and cosy moments in the film.
Overall, 1921 can definitely rock the silver screen when it will hit the theatres on January 12, 2018.
