After reliving good old days on the sets of "Comedy Nights with Kapil", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" lead pair Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol is set to perform at Maratha Mandir, Mumbai on 12 December to celebrate the film's 1,000-week run at the theatre.
"Executive Director of Maratha Mandir Cinema, Mr Manoj Desai revealed that YRF has made big plans on December 12 to commemorate the milestone achieved by DDLJ. He also stated that, the jodi that is cynosure of all eyes, SRK and Kajol will also perform at the event held at Maratha Mandir. Mr Desai also mentioned that if people are willing to watch DDLJ on big screen, then he would continue screening the epitome of romantic films even after the completion of 1000 weeks," stated a Bollywood Life report.
The cast, who is upbeat about their film reaching the coveted mark, is easily the most remembered faces of the Hindi film industry. Apart from talking about the film on various platforms and releasing a new trailer, the makers have also released a book for the many "DDLJ" lovers.
SRK, who was visibly pleased from the episode he shot on "CNWK", took to Twitter to express his excitement. "@KapilSharmaK9 you make me smile & laugh & give me happiness. U r one of the greatest stand up comics of our times. Thank you," he wrote.
Released on 20 October 1995, the classic love story follows Raj (SRK) and Simran (Kajol) on their epic train journey across Europe. Peppered with oodles of love, emotions and anger, the film is a charming saga directed by then debutante Aditya Chopra. The film also saw some more first appearances in Mandira Bedi and Karan Johar.
"DDLJ", which launched SRK's career as the lover boy of Bollywood, was first offered to Aamir Khan.
