The 100 finale is scheduled to air on August 7 and it wouldn't be too ambitious to say, it's going to be a cracker of an episode. Last week, the show bid emotional goodbyes to some of the characters and from the looks of it, there's more coming.
What to expect from the finale?
The burning question that The 100 is posing right now is if Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley) will forgive Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor). Going by what has happened in the past chances of the two getting close are bleak. Showrunner Jason Rothenberg told TV Guide that it's a plotline the makers will continue to explore in Season 6.
"I knew that some of the audience was going to have a problem with Clarke abandoning all of the people that they love in favour of this child. ... She's done some pretty crazy things from a certain perspective to keep Madi safe," he added.
He further revealed that the two questions that need to be answered are (Lola Flanery) will Madi be accepted at the helm of Wonkru, thereby making necessary changes and what happens to Clarke's mission of keeping Paxton McCreary (William Miller) on the ground so that missiles don't drop, destroying the last piece of land they have left.
In other news, will Marcus Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) survive the stab wounds? Even though his injuries don't appear healable, he's 100 per cent a part of the show. "I'm going to be in Season 6 of The 100. I'm also here on this panel, so I'm obviously in this show... I'm looking forward to this new adventure," Cusick confirmed the news to reporters at the TCA press tour.
Now, it'll be interesting to see how he gets back up on his feet.
Meanwhile, the 100 has been re-commissioned for season 6, but the makers had an endpoint in mind. However, while concluding the storyline, they opened doors to new adventures, which will set the tone for the next season.
Scheduled to air in spring 2019, The 100 is based on Kass Morgan's young adult science fiction book series of the same name.
