The American post-apocalyptic drama "The 100" will be back with season 3 in The CW's 2016 television season. The series, reported to be the most-watched series of its time slot, ended its season 2 by wrapping an epic saga of Mount Weather.
After making the irreversible decision of radiating everyone on Level 5, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) is so disgusted by her actions, that she decides to run away from the leaderly responsibilities and into the deep dark woods.
In a very touching moment from the season finale, Bellamy (Bob Morley) repeats her words to him from season 1, "If you need forgiveness, I'll give that to you. You're forgiven..." However, Clarke says that she cannot stay on with her people, because seeing their faces every day will remind her of what she had to do to get them there.
Meanwhile, Jaha (Isaiah Washington) and Murphy (Richard Harmon), who were following the trail of the mysterious City of Light, stumbled upon a huge field of abandoned solar panels. As Jaha meet up with a hologram of an AI known as "Allie", Murphy who was comes across a chilling video message inside a lighthouse, left by the previous occupant 97 years ago. He claims to have been the reason for the apocalypse, before shooting himself.
It is understood that the man from the video - a future day Dr Frankenstein - created the AI Allie, his monster, whom he was later unable to control. He could not stop her from nuking the world, however, he did contain her in the house where Jaha later finds her.
The upcoming season 3 will answer as to the true identity of Allie or A.L.L.I.E, and why it thanked Jaha for "the gift" of nuclear warhead from the missile he used to land on Earth. There is also reason to believe that Mount Weather will no longer be the main venue in "The 100", as it's story has more or less been told in full. Especially since Clarke has ventured out on her own, more ground on earth - literally - will be covered in the upcoming season.
