At least one person was feared dead and seven people were trapped under a five-storey building, which collapsed in Bangalore's Bellandur area, on Wednesday.
It was an under-construction building near Ecospace in Bellandur. The building reportedly tipped over in a vacant space next to it.
A security guard behind the under-construction building died in the mishap. The building collapsed on top of the cabin inside which the guard, Ashok Mahanta, was.
Reports said that the builders only had permission to make a two-storey building, but they were constructing a five-storey one instead.
Four labourers working at the site have been rescued and admitted to hospital, a local news channel reported. More are still trapped in the rubble, the DGP Fire Department said.
The Karnataka fire department arrived at the spot for rescue operations. Emergency Services and Disaster Response Force are also at the spot carrying out rescue operations.
