The trailer of Ram Charan's debut Bollywood movie "Zanjeer" (Shackles) was released on Friday.

The two-minute, 51-second long video shows action-packed drama with Prakash Jha playing the role of a criminal named Teja. Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt are also seen playing pivotal roles in the flick.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, "Zanjeer" is a remake of 1973 blockbuster of the same name which featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Pran, Ajit and Bindu.

The film is simultaneously made in Telugu and is titled "Toofan".

Ram Charan, who has stepped into the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan in the remake for his debut venture, plays the role of ACP Vijay Khanna. Pran's Sher Shah character is played by Sanjay Dutt, who is seen repeating the veteran actor's popular dialogue - "Mai beimaani ka kaam bhi imaandaari se karta hun" in the trailer. Sanjay Dutt had finished the dubbing for the film days before before he returned to finish his jail sentence over the 1993 Mumbai bombings.

Speaking about his role in "Zanjeer", Ram Charan had earlier said, "The police uniform makes you feel responsible and patriotic. I would never fool around when in uniform. You have to respect it," The Times of India reported.

On asked about his singer cum co-star Ram Charan said, "Priyanka is a really good, professional actress, who complements me on screen. I'm not a singer, so no lessons. We're both struggling with alien tongues: she - with Telugu, and me - with Hindi though I can speak a little in Hindi."

Priyanka's role in the film is seen to be quite different from the one played by Jaya Bachchan. Set to hit screens on 6 September, the film also stars Mahie Gill and Atul Kulkarni.

"Zanjeer" has been produced by RelianceEntertainment, Puneet Prakash Mehra, Sumeet Prakash Mehra and Flying Turtle Films and is co-Produced by Rampage Motion Pictures.
