"Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" has become the third highest grosser film ever in India after "3 Idiots" and "Ek Tha Tiger".
Having earned ₹155 crore from Domestic box office, the love story starring ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone has pushed down Salman Khan's two films - "Dabangg 2" and "Bodyguard" - to take the third position.
"YJHD", which is still in its third week at the theatres, has shattered many records at box office. The top 5 highest grosser films list was ruled by Salman Khan with four films before "YJHD" overtook one.
Ranbir-Deepika starrer has created history by entering the top 5 list. However, Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" (₹202.47 crore) and Salman's "Ek Tha Tiger" (₹198.78 crore) continue to be a challenge for the romantic comedy film.
Meanwhile, Ayan Mukherji's directorial film has also surpassed the ₹200 crore club at worldwide box office. This is Ranbir, Deepika, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin's first film ever to reach the double century mark.
Also, the second week collections of "YJHD" are the second highest ever after "3 Idiots". It is also the second film to cross the ₹40 crore mark in India.
Second week breakup of the film: Weekend ₹22.75 crore, Monday ₹5.5 crore, Tuesday ₹4.75 crore, Wednesday ₹4.55 crore and Thursday ₹4.12 crore.
