Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer "Yeh Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD)" has been performing extremely well at the box office, despite new releases including "Fukrey", "Ankur Arora Murder Case" and "Man of Steel."
"YJHD", which was released on 31 May, has collected around ₹13.20 crore in its third weekend. The overall collections of the film stands at ₹168.48 crore, making it one of the top three Hindi film grossers next to Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" and Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger."
"#YJHD collected ₹13.20 cr nett in Wknd 3. Grand total: ₹168.48 cr nett. Breakup for Wknd 3:- Fri 3.25 cr, Sat 4.30 cr, Sun 5.65 cr," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"#YJHD is unaffected by Hollywood [#ManOfSteel] and Bollywood [#Fukrey, #AnkurAroraMurderCase] films. Blockbuster!"
With its amazing collections, "YJHD" has entered the ₹100-crore club. The Ranbir starrer is the second film to enter the elite club after Saif Ali Khan's "Race 2", this year.
The excellent performances by the lead actors have been a big plus point for the film's success. The onscreen chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika has struck a chord with film buffs.
The duo had teamed up for "YJHD" five years after their last release "Bachna Ae Haseeno." With the success of "YJHD", filmmakers are reportedly interesting in casting the ex flames in their films.
Earlier, there were reports that Deepika would be teaming up with Ranbir for director Vikram Singh's tentatively titled film "Roy". But later it was confirmed that Jacqueline Fernandez would play the female lead opposite Ranbir.
The latest to join the legion of makers who want to cast the Ranbir-Deepika jodi is Imitiaz Ali. One of Ranbir's films will be directed by Imitiaz and the makers are in search for the leading lady. Popular names like Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt had surfaced, but it seems the director wants Deepika onboard for the project. However, there is no official word on it.
