Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" has crossed ₹200-crore mark at worldwide box office in just two weeks.
The romantic comedy has created another record by becoming the first film of the year to enter the double century club. Ayan Mukherji's directorial romantic entertainer has managed to rake in ₹201.53 crore from worldwide box office in just two weeks' time..
Ranbir-Deepika starrer is going pretty strong at domestic as well as overseas box office. "YJHD" raked in ₹47.67 crore nett from its second week, taking the overall total to ₹155.28 crore, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
"#YJHD crosses $ 3 million in USA. Overseas total: $ 8 million [₹46.25 cr]," trade analyst Taran Adrash tweeted.
The second week breakup of the film is: Friday ₹7 crore, Saturday ₹10.25 crore, Sunday ₹11.50 crore, Monday ₹5.5 crore, Tuesday ₹4.75 crore, Wednesday ₹4.55 crore and Thursday ₹4.12 crore.
The second week total of the film is second highest after Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" which collected more than ₹50 crore. "YJHD" has also become the second film ever to cross the ₹40 crore mark at domestic box office.
The collection usually declines drastically after the first week, but "YJHD" maintained a strong and steady position at the box office. Even the new release "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" did not affect the film's business.
It's yet to be seen if the release of two low-budget films this week - "Ankur Arora Murder Case" and "Fukrey" - will affect the business of "YJHD". The screens count of "YJHD" will reduce because of the two new films.
Meanwhile, "YJHD" is expected to do good business despite less number of screens. If the pace continues into the fourth week, it might end up colelcting lifetime business of ₹190 - ₹195 crore at domestic box office.
