After witnessing a dull opening weekend, the Deol starrer "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" had ended the first week on a lackluster note.
The action comedy film starring Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol had performed below the mark at domestic box office and raked in between ₹31.75 crore to ₹32 crore in seven days of its release.
"YPD2 is a disappointment. Did below the mark business in its opening weekend and went downhill on weekdays. The response in North India was slightly better," trade analyst Taran Adarsh said.
In its opening weekend, the film earned around ₹22.25 - ₹22.50 crore from 1,800 screens across the country. The collections declined during the weekdays in almost all circuits, except north India.
Initially, the film opened well in circuits like Delhi, UP, Punjab and Rajasthan but fail drastically later. With the release of two new films on Friday, the collections would fall even more. The film didn't do well at International market too.
"Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" is a sequel to 2011 hit film with the same title featuring the Deol trio.
The Deol production directed by Sangeeth Sivan features Neha Sharma of "Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum" fame and Australian model-turned-actress Kristina Akheeva, who is making her Bollywood debut through the film. It also features Annu Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever and Sucheta Khanna in important roles.
