The trailer of Kamal Haasan's much-awaited film "Vishwaroopam 2" was launched during the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards event held in Macau last weekend.
The trailer was received with great appreciation from the Bollywood film fraternity. It has to be remembered that "Vishwaroopam" (first part) trailer was also launched at the IIFA awards 2012 ceremony.
During the launch of "Vishwaroopam 2 ("Vishwaroop II in Hindi)" trailer at IIFA 2013, Kamal revealed that 90 percent of the film's work has been completed. The actor said that the sequel has used advanced technology and will have some underwater stunts which would be the main highlight of the film.
"The second part is both a sequel and prequel and it will focus on the romantic and emotional aspect now. It will be technologically more advanced. We have shot a scene underwater too," he said, according to Press Trust of India.
The veteran actor also unveiled the first look poster of the film, which has received massive response from film buffs. Kamal also said he is confident that the sequel would be a big success like "Vishwaroopam", which received rousing response from all quarters and went on to become a blockbuster despite the two-week delay in its release over a controversy involving some Muslim groups.
The shooting of "Vishwaroopam 2" is progressing at a brisk pace and Kamal is reportedly planning to release it November as a Diwali treat to his fans.
In that case, "Vishwaroopam 2" might clash with Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiyaan" which is also expected to be released during Diwali. However, there is no official confirmation from both the films' makers regarding the release date.
Most of the original cast from "Vishwaroopam" - Kamal, Pooja Kumar, Andrea and Rahul Bose - have been retained for the sequel. According to Kamal, "Vishwaroopam 2" will focus more on relationships. The film is written and directed by Kamal himself. Music director Ghibran has composed the songs.
