Siddharth-Santhanam starrer "Theeya Velai Seiyanum Kumaru (TVSK)" has fetched about ₹20 lakh in the first two days at the overseas box office.
"TVSK", which was released on 15 June, has received good response from critics as well as film buffs.
The film fetched ₹6.71 lakh from seven screens in two days (Friday and Saturday) at the UK box office. It was screened in more number of screens in the US. "TVSK" raked in ₹13.46 lakh from 11 screens in the US, said Taran Adarsh, trade analyst and film critic.
"UK: #TVSK [Tamil] Fri £ 3,127, Sat £ 4,297. Total: £ 7,424 [₹6.71 lacs] from 7 screens," Taran tweeted on his twitter page.
"USA: #TVSK [Tamil] Fri $ 10,029, Sat $ 13,368. Total: $ 23,397 [₹13.46 lacs] from 11 screens," he said.
Directed by Sundar C, "TVSK" is about an introvert IT employee trying to impress the girl of his dreams with the help of a love guru. Critics have termed the film as a family entertainer filled with hilarious moments.
The film has an ensemble cast including Santhanam, Hansika Motwani, Ganesh Venkatraman, RJ Balaji, Jennifer, Devadarshini, Chitra Lakshmanan, Delhi Ganesh and Bosskey. "TVSK" is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual released simultaneously in both the languages. The Telugu version has Brahmmanandam donning the role of love guru played by Santhanam in the Tamil version.
The first day collection of the Telugu version titled "Something Something" has grossed ₹3.16 lakh on 10 screens at the US box office, reported Glintcinemas.com.
It is yet to be seen if the film would be able to do better than Shiva's "Thillu Mullu", another family entertainer which was released on the same day.
