The next season of "The X Factor" will not be the same, as the bubbly mentor - Demi Lovato - has confirmed that she is leaving the popular television reality show after two seasons.
"I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I'm going to go back to that," the 21-year-old was quoted as saying by BBC. "It's been really great but I'm so excited for 2014. I'm going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music, touring and making a new album."
"Being able to sit next to Kelly and Paulina and see them twice a week, and also helping mentor the contestants," Hollywood Reporter quoted the singer as saying.
The "Skyscraper" singer made the announcement on Wednesday, ahead of the grand finale live performance of "The X Factor" USA 2013.
Simon Cowell also said that he knew Lovato was quitting the show.
"I always knew she wasn't coming back because she's touring, so I knew that," Cowell told Hollywood Reporter.
He also took to Twitter to thank her. "To avoid speculation. Because of her tour next year it was unlikely she could do that and X factor," he wrote. "She and I have had our ups and downs but now consider her a true friend. The door will always be open. And thank you Demi. Simon.x."
Demi Lovato, who joined the show in 2012, had earlier told People magazine that she will get back to her root soon while considering taking a break for the moment.
"I will take the month of January completely off!" she vowed. "I want to vacation! I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch ... I need to do some exercising and I don't really have time to do it. I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that," shetold People.
Lovato is set to start her Neon Lights tour to support her album, Demi in February.
