'The Golden Peacock': Sridevi, Jaya Bachchan and Others at Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla's Fundraiser

Fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla on Monday presented "The Golden Peacock" at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai.

"The Golden Peacock" was a presentation of couture collection. The proceeds of the event go to the Sahachari Foundation for the cause of pediatric cancer. The funds will also support St. Jude's India Childcare Centre, an institution which helps children suffering from cancer.

"We have a deep commitment to 'giving back'. We have been blessed with so much and feel it is not merely our duty, but also a privilege to share ourselves, our creativity and our resources with those less fortunate," the desinger duo said.

The event was attended by many B-town celebrities including Jaya Bachchan, Kokilaben Ambani with daughter Dipti Salgaonkar, Sridevi with husband Boney Kapoor, Asha Parekh, Shammi Aunty, Sonali Bendre, Gauri Joshi Oberoi, Gauri Pohoomul and Smita Parekh, Bijal Meswani, Shobha and Dilip De with daughter Arundhati De, Rashmi Thackeray, Pinky Reddy, Shaina NC, Sharmila Thackeray, Suresh and Deveika Bhojwani, Bhavna Pandey, Anu Deewan and Harsh Goenka.

Businesswoman Gauri Pohoomul addressed the event, while actress Jaya Bachchan introduced the designers and their work for over 25 years in the field of fashion.

The evening was a sparkling montage of fashion with the Golden Peacock as event's main theme. The ranges showcased were Peacock, Jewel, Art Deco And Avatar, Mirror, Solid, Dhaka and the Abu and Sandeep's Chikan work.
