The issues over "Thalaivaa" release delay has not deterred the work of Vijay's upcoming film "Jilla", directed by debutant RT Nesan.
Vijay, who was disappointed with "Thalaivaa" release issues, has not let his performance in "Jilla" get affected. Now that "Thalaivaa" is released and doing good business at the Tamil Nadu box office, Vijay has completely shifted his focus to his upcoming film "Jilla."
The shooting of "Jilla" is progressing at a brisk pace and the film's team recently wrapped up their shooting in Chennai. They are set to resume shooting some portions in Hyderabad. Speculations are rife that Vijay is playing a cop in the film. The actor was last seen appearing as a police officer in the blockbuster flick "Pokkiri".
"Jilla" has a big star cast including Mohanlal, yesteryear actress Poornima Bhagyaraj and Kajal Aggarwal. According to the film's director, Mohanlal's character will be a powerful one that will remain etched in the minds of the people. This is one of the reasons why the powerhouse performer has accepted to do "Jilla", reported Behindwoods.
"Jilla" is expected to be completely different from the recently-released "Thalaivaa", where Vijay plays the role of a common man, doing water business, who turns into a leader after the death of his father (Sathyaraj).
The music of "Jilla" is composed by Imman of "Kumki" fame. Following the success of "Vaanganna Vanakkanganna" song, Vijay is in demand to lend his voice for at least one song in his films. The actor is expected to sing a number in "Jilla" as well. If the reports are to be believed then it would be Vijay's 26th song.
However, there is no official confirmation as to whether Vijay would be recording a song for the film. The music album of "Jilla" will reportedly have both melody and peppy tracks, according to Imman.
"Jilla" is expected to get released on Pongal next year, possibly heading for a big clash with Ajith's "Veeram", slated to release on the same day.
