Even as speculations are rife about popular film star Ajith's next movies, the actor on Saturday denied signing any films and announced that he would undergo a surgery in October.
Ajith who is currently busy with director Vishnuvardhan's film tentatively titled movie "Valai" will undergo a long-pending surgery once he completes his current assignments. According to a press statement from Ajith's official spokesperson, Ajith will not sign any new movies until he completely recovers from an injury that he sustained during the shooting of a car sequence in Vishnuvardhan's film.
"Ajith Kumar will undergo a surgery on Oct 21 and will not contemplate on signing or discussing on any new projects till his complete recovery from the injuries which he sustained during the shoot of his upcoming film," the statement said.
"The reason for the delay of surgery is to accommodate his commitments to veteran producer A.M. Ratnam whose untitled mega project starring many reputed names is on the floors and the difficulty of coordinating all these artistes' dates was considered."
The movie features popular actors Arya, Rana Daggubati, Nayantara, Taapsee Pannu, Kishore, Atul Kulkarni, Mahesh Manjrekar and Suma Ranganath in significant roles alongside Ajith.
Besides Vishnuvardhan's movie, Ajith has also accepted to work in a project with director "Siruthai" Siva. The untitled movie with a multi-star cast will be produced by Vijaya Productions that belongs to late producer Nagi Reddy, who was instrumental in making popular movies like Maya Bazaar. Ajith had earlier committed to do a movie with the production house in honour of the centenary year of Nagi Reddy.
The actor is likely to begin shooting for the new film on 1 April in Hyderabad. Once he completes shooting his portions for the movie, the actor will fly abroad to undergo a surgery in October. He would take a break from movies for around five to six months before he finalises his future projects.
