After making a good opening, Aamir Khan's latest film "Talaash" has earned over ₹79 crore at the domestic box office alone in its second weekend.
"Talaash", featuring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor, was released across 2500 screens in India and 520 screens overseas, collecting ₹13.5 crore on the opening day itself.
"#Talaash collected approx Rs 11.20 cr nett in its Weekend 2. Grand total: Rs 79.10 cr nett," tweeted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh on Monday.
The film crossed the ₹ 100-crore mark at the box office within the first week of its release, raking in ₹67.9 crore at domestic and ₹36.75 crore at the overseas box offices, taking the worldwide collection to ₹ 104.65 crore.
"Talaash" earned ₹13.5 crore on the opening day, followed by ₹15.5 crore and ₹18.1 crore on the following two days but dropped drastically in the days that followed with the Monday's collection dipping to ₹6.74 crore, ₹5.72 crore on Tuesday, ₹4.56 crore on Wednesday and ₹3.7 crore on Thursday.
The earnings of "Talaash" were affected to a certain extent with the release of action masala film, "Khiladi 786", featuring Akshay Kumar and Asin Thottumkal.
"Talaash" is a murder mystery directed by Reema Kagti, whose first directorial venture was "Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd", The movie is jointly produced by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions.
