Aamir Khan's first suspense thriller film "Talaash: The Answer Lies Within" has almost stopped the business at the domestic box office in its third week.
Reema Kagti's directorial film has raked approximately ₹ 7.76 crore net in its third week, taking the overall three weeks' domestic total to ₹93.40 crore net.
The movie, also starring Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles, had done good business in its first and second weekend, but the earnings declined considerably in the third week.
It raked in ₹16.75 crore in second week but in the third week the collection declined by almost 50 percent at the domestic box office.
The suspense thriller did well at selected urban plexes over the weekend, but during the weekdays the business went down.
"Held well at select urban plexes over the weekend. But has almost exhausted its theatrical run," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh said.
On a positive note, "Talaash" has been declared a superhit at the overseas box office. It has become the third highest grosser film of the year in the international market after Shahrukh Khan's "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger."
The suspense thriller and murder mystery was released on Nov. 30 and received mixed reviews from the critics. It is jointly produced by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions.
Besides the three big stars, the movie also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Raj Kumar Yadav, Shernaz Patel and Bengali actor Subrat Dutta in supporting roles.
