Aamir Khan's latest film "Talaash" has earned a whopping ₹67.9 crore in its first week after witnessing a good opening last Friday.
"Talaash", featuring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor, was released across 2500 screens in India and 520 screens overseas, collecting ₹13.5 crore on the opening day itself.
"#Talaash Wed 4.56 cr, Thu 3.7 cr. Total: ₹67.9 Cr," tweeted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
The domestic box office collection of "Talaash" has gone down drastically after the weekend - from ₹13.5 crore on Friday, Sat ₹15.5 crore on Saturday and ₹18.1 crore on Sunday to ₹6.74 crore on Monday, ₹5.72 crore on Tuesday, ₹4.56 crore on Wednesday and ₹3.7 crore on Thursday.
On the other hand, its overseas box office collection seems encouraging. The opening weekend collection of the film in UK was ₹3.37 crore (£ 386,418), ₹8.97 crore ($ 1,638,706) in USA, ₹7.67 crore ($ 14,00,000) in UAE + GCC, ₹1.81 crore (A$ 320,269) in Australia and ₹42.73 lakh (NZ$ 95,879) in New Zealand, taking the total overseas weekend collection to ₹22.24 approximately, according to Adarsh.
The earnings of "Talaash" could be further affected with the release of action masala film, "Khiladi 786", featuring Akshay Kumar and Asin Thottumkal.
"Talaash" is a murder mystery directed by Reema Kagti, whose first directorial venture was "Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd", The movie is jointly produced by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions.
