"Rowdy Rathore", which had a huge opening last Friday with a whopping collection of Rs 152.5 million, continues to rock the box office.
This movie racked up Rs 480 million across the country in the first three days, wedging it into a big league as far as the collections are concerned. The box office analysts consider it among the strongest openings of this year.
The timing of release of the "Rowdy Rathore" and other several elements of the movie and the market, as well, worked out in favour of the movie.
"Rowdy Rathore", is a big film in terms of star cast and budget. The makers of the film unleashed surprise on the movie goers post IPL season, with all those action, emotions, drama and humour elements. The movie has all the elements that makes a successful commercial film.
This move gave actor Akshay Kumar a break and got him doing all those thrilling kicks and punches on screen after a long time. It also went on to became the biggest opening in Akshay's acting career and the third biggest opening ever in Bollywood, and it continues to rally well at the box office.
Choreographer cum actor cum director Prabhu Deva has ventured into film direction again with this film. His directorial debut movie "Wanted" gave actor Salamn Khan a break at a time when the actor was having a bad phase.
"Rowdy Rathore" is Prabhu Deva's second directorial movie in a row.
The film features Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.
Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by Prabhu Deva, "Rowdy Rathore" is a remake of super-hit Telugu movie "Vikramarkudu" directed by Rajamouli, starring Ravi Teja and Anushka. Later, it was dubbed in Tamil and Kannada simultaneously.
