Jr NTR's "Ramayya Vastavayya" (RV) has earned an estimated worldwide share of approximately ₹27- ₹27.5 crore at the box office, according to AndhraBoxOffice.
The action-packed entertainer had a good start on the first day of its release. But the film's collections have dropped in the days that followed, owing to negative feedback. The Jr NTR starrer failed to live up to the expectations, which has marred its prospects at the box office.
However, the film's producer believes that "RV" will break even by next weekend. "The film has grossed Rs 20 crore in the first three days itself. I am confident that the movie will be able to break even by next weekend. I am very pleased with the film's performance at the BO," Dil Raju was quoted as saying by The Times of India, at the "success" meet of the film.
The team of "RV" held a formal "success" meet to promote their film. While Dil Raju, director Harish Shankar and Shruti Haasan attended the press meet, film's leading actors Jr NTR and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were missing.
Echoing audience opinion, Dil Raju said that the film's title and the content were not in sync, which upset the fans and led to negative talk, reported Gulte. "RV" plot revolves around Jr NTR, who appears as a college student. The film which starts off as a romantic-comedy entertainer turns into a revenge drama post interval. Apparently, this did not go down well with the audience who felt that the film lacked the entertainment quotient. Negative feedback from critics and the public has largely affected the film's performance at the box office.
With the release of Vishnu Manchu's "Doosukeltha", which has generated positive feedback, "RV" collections are expected to dwindle further.
