Abbas-Mustan's action thriller "Race 2" is still going strong at the box office, earning reasonably well in the second weekend. The total collection at the domestic box office is on the verge of touching the ₹100-crore-mark.
Directed by duo Abbas-Mustan, the film was released across 3,200 screens in India on Jan 25 and earned ₹15.12 crore on the opening day itself.
"#Race2 collected ₹15.5 cr nett in Weekend 2. Grand total: ₹91.6 cr nett. Breakup for Weekend 2:- Fri 3.5 cr, Sat 5.5 cr, Sun 6.5 cr," tweeted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
The film is expected to join ₹100 crore club in a week's time, as there are no big films running in the theatres currently.
The worldwide collection of the film has already crossed ₹100-crore mark, earning ₹79.6 crore from India and ₹22.61 crore from overseas in just seven days, taking the total earning to ₹102.21 crore.
"Race 2" is an action-thriller, a sequel to 2008 hit film "Race". It features Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.
