Dispite mixed reviews from critics, action-thriller "Race 2" has been doing good business at the box office with its opening weekend collections touching a whopping ₹51.35 crore.
Directed by duo Abbas-Mustan, the film was released across 3,200 screens in India and earned ₹15.12 crore on the opening day itself.
The three-day collection of the film has crossed ₹51 crore.
"#Race2 collected approx Rs 51.35 cr nett in its opening weekend. Breakup:- Fri 15.12 cr, Sat 20.72 cr, Sun 15.51 cr," tweeted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
The two days earning of "Race 2" in the United Kingdom was ₹1.99 crore (£ 233,557), ₹59.36 lakh (A$ 105,867) in Australia, ₹21.14 lakh (NZ$ 46,918) in New Zealand, and ₹3.23 crore ($ 600,000) in UAE, said Taran.
The film earned ₹5.25 crore from Mumbai, ₹3.10 crore from Delhi and UP, ₹1.25 crore from Punjab, ₹75 lakh from CP, CI ₹57 lakh from CI, ₹1.05 crore from Rajasthan, ₹80 lakh from Nizam, ₹90 lakh from Mysore, ₹30 lakh from TNK, ₹55 lakh from WB, ₹25 lakh from Bihar, ₹15 lakh from Assam and, ₹20 lakh from Odisha, taking the total first day collection to ₹15.12 crore, tweeted Taran.
"Race 2" is an action-thriller, a sequel to 2008 film "Race". It features Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.
