Bollywood film "Raanjhanaa" directed by Anand L. Rai has earned ₹34.93 crore in its first week at the domestic box office.
The romantic flick starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles has done quite well at the box office during the first week.
The first week break-up of the film is: Friday ₹5.12 crore, Saturday ₹6.81 crore, Sunday ₹8.15 crore, Monday ₹3.85 crore, Tuesday ₹3.90 crore, Wednesday ₹3.60 crore and Thursday ₹3.50 crore.
"Witnessed remarkable growth over the weekend and maintained super-strong collections on weekdays. The business has strengthened in every circuit, after an ordinary start last Friday," trade analyst Taran Adarsh said.
Good reviews has particularly contributed to the rise in the film's collections. The film is expected to maintain the same steady position at the box office during its second week in India.
Meanwhile, the Tamil version of the romantic film titled "Ambikapathy" has was released over 300 screens in Tamil Nadu on Friday and is getting good response.
"Raanjhanaa Tamil version releases day after in Tamilnadu. I'm very eagerly waiting for the results," south-star Dhanush tweeted.
Comedy film "Fukrey" released a week before "Raanjhanaa" is also drawing good collections at the box office. The hit film has minted ₹11.80 crore in its second week, taking the overall total to ₹30.22 crore.
