Anand L Rai's "Raanjhanaa" is earning average collections overseas after facing competition from new Hindi and regional releases.
The romantic film based on a Muslim girl and the son of a Tamil priest is still entertaining audiences in overseas region. The film starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles has managed to earn ₹1.43 crore from UK, US and Australia box offices in its second weekend.
The overseas total of the film after 10 days stands at ₹8.4 crore. The film has done amazing business at the US box office where it raked in ₹1.16 crore in the second weekend.
Punjabi film "Jatt and Juliet 2" is giving tough competition to other Bollywood releases, because of which their collections have declined.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" is still running at the overseas box office in fifth week.
The romantic film has raked in ₹10.65 lakh (£ 11,775) from UK, ₹85.34 lakh ($1,43,616) from US in its fifth weekend. The collections were superb in the US market where it is still running in over 160 screens. The film has crossed the $10 million mark in overseas.
"And #YJHD has crossed $ 10 million mark in Overseas... USA-Canada $ 3.7 million, UK $ 1.6 million, UAE $ 2.2 million, balance ROW," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. The film is very close to break Shah Rukh Khan's "Om Shanti Om" lifetime collection record at the overseas box office.
"Om Shanti Om" released in 2007 has raked in $10,080,000 and is at the seventh position in the overseas market. "YJHD" is likely to break the record in the fifth week.
In India, the film earned ₹1.58 crore nett in the fith weekend, taking the overall total to ₹188.57 crore.
